What to do when feeling sad

ok so MCAD is amazing however everyone gets sad from time to time and today both Alice and I were feeling a bit low so Emma took us for an adventure to first of all get icecream at Sebastian Joes which was amazing and then a road trip to SouthDale and Lake Harriet. It was really fun all you need is good music (including backstreet boys and premature christmas songs) and good friends to put the smile back on your face :)

A Lovely afternoon with Alice and my parents

A rainy afternoon which ended up having many suprises, we firstly went to the centre for book arts which was full of lovely books, then we all got really hungry and saw a restaurant called the old spaghetti factory however it wasnt open till 5pm so we had 45mins to kill so we took a wander and ended up in the Gutherie Theatre on the 9th floor seeing a beautiful view of the city, and then walking down an endless ramp which was amazing with loads of weird mirrors which played tricks on your mind, and then leaving down an escalator which went down 4 floors! Then we ate a lovely meal and saw a guy with an amazing hair cut - GOBAMA still makes me :)

Finishing Form Z

I have now finished form z, I was really bad to start off with but have really improved and suprised myself at what i can achieve, here are my plastic stencil from the RP and my Wooden bike from the CNC im so pleased :)

Creative Review Blog

I was doing a project in Copywrite for Advertising all about the Lonely Planet guides, we had to create adverts expressing the essence of the guides, Abbey and I decided on slogans such as "enjoy getting lost" and about how you need to see where you are rather then through the lens of a camera we were impressed at our ideas and then the next thing I see about a month later is that BA have stolen our ideas, hehe, but there pretty nice ads all in all.

Working Hard

Below is some of the work iv been doing using the CNC machine in the workshop, the Typography pieces letters were all cut out from cardboard on the CNC they look so nice, shame that I photographed them in the wrong context for my type class but im pleased with the letters on a technical level. Then look what iv managed to achieve with Form Z iv drawn my amazing bike even im impressed so maybe I can do this model making class after all, im so excited to actually cut it out of wood and have a model of my bike so il never forget it.

Happiness




I feel so privileged to have been here in America to witness Obama become the new president of the United States, it was a really beautiful moment, a mark in history that I will never ever forget. The thing I will remember the most is the sheer happiness that filled the entire room, everyones faces were filled with true happiness it was more then just in their smiles it was in their eyes. Obama then made a really awe inspiring speech which gave me shivers it felt honest and real and definitely provides hope for the future. I truly feel so lucky to have shared this experience with all the amazing people that I have met here, it made me so happy seeing how happy they all were. I look forward to all the newness that now is to come and can end the evening with the hugest smile on my face and real happiness in my heart. Go Obama.

Halloween

We had a really fun adventure down to River Falls Wisconsin where we had dinner at Colins parents house and then went off to a log cabin in the woods where there was music, dancing and a bonfire, it really was so much fun, a great halloween experience, shame all the photos are so bad!

A Lovely Little Bird and Trip to Lake Calhoun

This tiny little bird was sitting under a bike wheel we thought it was hurt but it was just asleep so oops we woke it up but it was safer away from the bikes. Then instead of doing homework going on a peddle boat with Stephanie and Alice seemed a much more productive use of our time, it was really beautiful though and well worth it.

The Beauty Of Nature



Alice and I found these after a laughter filled lunch at the bad waitress today, we thought they wernt even real but they are and they are really beautiful, it made me smile.

ok so this book isnt perfect which annoys me a lot but there were a lot of mistakes made in the making process such as the binding going all wrong so i had to cut the book down so now its a bit small for its jacket but im please with the type so i guess thats a good thing.
